Family Update

Well, the school year is underway and we are finally get used to the new schedule. Hayden is going to morning care, now that I have a job, and she LOVES it! Jack is loving pre-school, though, "all his teacher does all day is yell." hehe - The good thing is....she's not yelling at him. She told me last week "what a great job you are doing with Jack." Made me proud! Compliments like that keep me going!

Hayden is on a new soccer team this year, "The Mystery Girls." Her coach is awesome; the way he coaches reminds me a lot of the way John would coach if he were here. They believe in the same concept....PLAY TO WIN! I love it! He also gets upset at the other teams and the refs when they don't call a foul - last week he threw his clipboard because he doesn't want the girls to be hurt and it was intentional tripping. After he threw his clipboard, I thought "Ahhhh, I found the right team." hehe Hayden practices twice a week with a game on Saturday. Both Hayden and Jack are swimming this year and have practice on Thursday nights. Jack is playing soccer in the Spring, he changed his mind about playing and it was too late to sign up for the fall. Hayden also has girl scout Daisy's once a month.

The job is going well. I have a couple of kids that are a challenge, but overall they are great! We really do some awesome things with them. On Mondays I take two kids to TJ Maxx and we unload boxes and unfold clothes, Tuesdays we go "St. Francis House" - this is a safe place for homeless people to go, take a shower and get clean clothes. We wash, dry, fold and take care of clothes. Wednesdays we go to "Mountain Man." This is a candy/chocolate factory. We do all kinds of different things here. Thursdays we go to "Cafe 180." This place is an awesome restaurant where they serve mostly organic salad, pizza and soup. Anyone can eat here - the goal is to feed everyone. Those that can afford it, pay and give. Those that can't, can help around the restaurant or give what they can. We prep food, make pizza, bus tables, do dishes, etc. Fridays I have off.

This weekend we have Hayden's double header soccer games on Saturday and Daddy's Annual Children's Parade on Sunday. Next weekend the kids are going for an overnight at Camp Carey. This is a grief camp where they are paired up with an adult camp counselor and meet other children who have lost a parent or close loved one. I'm anxious to see where they are and how they perceive the camp. I'm hoping it's a great experience for them.

Hayden has off school today and she is going to the zoo with her friend Jack. Jack is going to school so I can get to yoga and do a few errands for the parade.

We hope each of you are doing well.
